The Lost Chronicles of Darla has turned into my sinister little child you can’t help but root for. You’re on the edge of what Darla’s up to now, while thinking she’s the perfect little girl. And Darla just keeps surprising you throughout the book, but I think the biggest surprise is how you will see yourself in her.
Anyone can relate to being in situations where you’re underestimated, where you have to make tough choices quicker than you might be mature enough to make. Whether you forgive, speak up, let things go, or fight back. And that’s why I think readers will be pleasantly surprised how, even though this is a book for teens, it resonates so deeply for readers of all ages and backgrounds.
My common thread in my books is about breakthrough, healing, and being released from bondage. And if you are at a crossroads, or you just want something that helps spark something in you to make that move that you’ve been resisting, then don’t get this book just for a teen. You get this book for yourself.
Darla surprised me in how she sparked something in me. As I got to the pivotal points, and I got to the end, I just had fun with the twists and the turns. It’s like she kept talking to me, and I wanted to get it just right. I wanted to be true to when there was a hard stop, it was a hard stop. And here we have a novella. And here is Darla to you.
