The Book I Wrote When God Went Quiet
Some things call you to take the lead.
For someone who usually thinks everything through, I had no power over this command.
I was perplexed by how strongly it tugged at me to share vulnerabilities I once believed could sabotage my career. I wanted to come across as wise, polished, and as though I just happened to know things.
But life had become too messy, and the losses were too many to count.
Who was I to share my naked truths?
God Is Working on a Bigger Yes didn’t care about my comfortable standards—or rules, depending on who you ask.
Everything was crumbling. There had been too many false hopes, too many losses, and too many financial scares piling on top of one another.
And finally, I said, okay.
It’s time.
I had no strategy for this book.
It wouldn’t allow me to wrap everything in a bow, share a few cute Pinterest-worthy affirmations, and call it healing. I would’ve been perfectly happy to celebrate a sale or two and quietly move on.
But the energy behind this book commanded more.
This wasn’t only about me.
It carried a message that felt almost like an oath I must’ve taken in another lifetime. A spiritual debt owed. A promise I didn’t remember making.
Whatever it was, I felt compelled.
The rejections.
The loss of my best friend, who birthed me.
Trying to wrap my head around debt I inherited, questionable finances, and the realization that I was no longer willing to stay anywhere toxic just because leaving would be difficult.
Every fire.
Every rejection.
Every gray area.
I got tired of hope.
I got tired of saying everything was fine and reminding myself to be thankful while my life felt like it was collapsing in real time.
This was ugly.
This was ongoing.
And I couldn’t whimsically wipe it away.
This pain had bones.
It had teeth.
Every day, the pain reminded me it was still there.
So I transmuted it into words and art. I kept putting the pieces together until they finally allowed me to breathe.
And there it was.
I wrote God Is Working on a Bigger Yes for the people who are beyond tired.
For the heartbroken.
For the person stuck in a season where no answer arrives on time, and it feels like one may never come.
For those who feel like life turned its back on them.
For the people who have been bracing for pain and surviving for so long that they almost forgot how to feel, how to love, or whether healing is only meant for certain people.
Months passed, and I realized I had left unfinished business out of the book.
It’s one thing to share a pivotal season and leave the reader feeling good.
But what happens when they’re ready to act and don’t know where to begin?
Will this work?
Will I be okay?
That kept tugging at me.
So I returned.
I expanded the book because this isn’t a one-and-done story where life becomes perfect after the final page.
This requires faith.
Diabolical optimism.
Grace.
Focus.
But the most important thing it requires is desire.
Because when you don’t want something badly enough, disappointment can defeat you before you ever give yourself a real chance.
This book is straight to the point.
What you give is what you get.
But more importantly, how you give is how you’ll receive.
I did the work so you could pick up the book and begin.
If you’re in the thick of it right now, this book is for you.
Not while you’re still trying to fix it.
Not while you’re convincing yourself you’ve got one more push left.
This is for when the tank is empty—and so is your faith.
That’s where we begin—
and where your bigger yes can begin to breathe.
